The next stage in your education is probably the most important of all. Whatever you do in the rest of your life, it will be much easier if you make a success of these next two years.

All students study the following core subjects:

• GCSE English Language
• GCSE English Literature
• GCSE Mathematics
• GCSE Combined Science
• GCSE French
• Humanities - GCSE Geography, GCSE History or
  GCSE Religious Studies (Full Course)
• Physical Education (not examined)
• Personal Development (not examined)

We are very proud of the range of subjects in our curriculum and that they are available to students of all abilities. The offer process aims to help everyone to make the best choices to suit their interests and help all students to progress to what they want to do in the next phase of education and beyond.

• Everyone will study either History, Geography or Religious Studies.
• Most students will continue with French as a core subject unless they have been specifically targeted to receive extra English and maths support instead.
• All courses are either GCSEs assessed mainly by examinations at the end of the two years, or high value Technical Awards. The Technical Awards involve applied learning and have up to 75% of the course assessed as you go along, therefore reducing the number of exams at the end of Year 11. These courses are suitable for students of all abilities, have grades equivalent to GCSEs, and are of equal value.
