'Best Yet' Open Week for QE

Large Turnout from Prospective Parents

QE’s Open Week Events generated a huge amount of interest from families both within the school’s catchment area and from further afield this week. On Open Evening the car parks soon filled up but fortunately, the field was able to accommodate the overflow.

Parents particularly commented on how welcoming the school was, and how impressed they were with the QE Student Ambassadors who guided them around the campus, who they said were a credit to the school.

The Open Evening kicked off with a speech from QE’s Principal, Rupert Poole who articulated the school’s vision moving forward, highlighting this year’s academic results alongside curriculum diversity and QE’s sporting and arts strength.

Families were then able visit a large range of subject showcases presenting a snapshot of academic, sporting and arts opportunities on offer at QE, chatting with teachers along the way.

The QE Pizzeria was kept extremely busy all evening with children making their own pizzas, assisted by some very talented QE student chefs in the making. QE’s PE department rocked it out with an awesome display in the sports hall, combining a host of physical challenges for the children to enjoy.

Jax Foster-Wilson, aged 10 from Copplestone Primary, attended the Open Evening and said; “It was very well organised and lots of fun, I can’t wait to come to QE!”

Parents gave great feedback on the creative efforts made to engage families and on how warm, friendly and professional the staff and students were.

Rupert Poole said; “We are absolutely delighted – the open days were very busy and successful and the open evening has had a fantastic buzz of excitement – it is always one of the highlights off the year. It was lovely to meet so many young students and their families and to have an opportunity to talk with them about everything that goes on here at QE”

If you did not manage to attend the recent Open Events, or would like a second visit, QE’s doors are always open, just call 01363 775871 or email reception@qe.devon.sch.uk to make an appointment.
