2026 Ten Tors Report

This year, QE fielded one 35-mile team and two 55-mile teams, each of whom trained tirelessly over many months in some extremely demanding conditions.
Training regularly took place in harsh winter weather, including heavy rain, freezing temperatures, strong winds, and difficult terrain. Despite these challenges, attendance and morale remained consistently high. Team members showed remarkable perseverance, pushing themselves physically and mentally during long-distance hikes, navigation exercises, overnight expeditions, and endurance training across Dartmoor and other challenging environments.
The event itself was a memorable and rewarding culmination of months of hard work and preparation. An early start at 5:00am on Saturday saw all teams preparing kit, making final checks, and heading to the start line for the 6:30am departure. After watching the traditional parachute display and listening to the Ten Tors prayer, the teams set off across Dartmoor with determination and excitement. Throughout the weekend, they faced the physical and mental challenges of the route with resilience and teamwork. On Sunday, all three teams successfully and victoriously crossed the finish line, an outstanding achievement that reflected their dedication, perseverance, and countless hours of training. One of our 55-mile teams achieved the fastest time ever for QE 55-miles.
The training team are incredibly proud of every student who took part in this year’s challenge. The determination, effort, and positive attitude shown throughout the months of preparation and during the event itself have been exceptional. Watching all three teams cross the finish line was a moment of great pride and a testament to the hard work, resilience, and teamwork displayed by every participant.
