Crediton Food Sustainability

Involve Mid Devon awarded £24,000 by Devon Community Foundation's Large Grants fund to partner with QE to establish a community Cooking and Eating Hub.

Involve Mid Devon said: "We are pleased and excited to have been awarded £24,000 by Devon Community Foundation‘s Large Grants fund for a partnership project across Crediton. Our community partners and key stakeholders have identified a significant number of families who experience barriers in feeding themselves in a sustainably healthy way. The initiative aims to empower individuals, strengthen community ties, and provide long-term solutions to food insecurity and skill development.

"Our plan is to partner with Queen Elizabeth's School as a central community asset of learning and support, and establish a Cooking and Eating Hub, strengthened by additional locations across the town, inviting families and the community to participate in developing essential skills in a fun and engaging environment.

"Looking forward to developing this project further with the Crediton voluntary sector, including but not exclusively: The Library foodbank; the Congregational Church foodbank; CHAT Crediton foodbank; Turning Tides; Growing Well Garden at Bow. If you are a local group interested in sustainable food and skills sharing, and want to help, please contact us.
