Welcome to Barnfield campus; we are really pleased that you have chosen Queen Elizabeth’s School.

We are rightfully proud of our two separate campuses as it means we are able to offer age appropriate support to children as they transition from primary school to secondary school. Your child will attend Barnfield Campus for Years 7 and 8 before moving to Western Road for Year 9 and their GCSE years.

With many of our Year 7 students coming to us from small, rural schools, we realise that the jump to secondary school can be daunting. With just two year groups here at Barnfield campus, children are able to settle in and get used to secondary school life.

Barnfield is a fantastic campus with large open spaces and superb views of the town and local countryside. We have a well-structured support system, which caters to the pastoral and academic needs of the children, and enables them to thrive here at Barnfield. When students move on to Western Road for Year 9, we support them through the process again, equipping them for the next stage of their education.

In order to help students settle-in happily and quickly, we operate a comprehensive transition process, which also enables you as parents or carers to be able to support children through the transition to secondary school.

We set very high expectation for our students, and ourselves, here at QE and believe young people flourish when provided with opportunities, challenges and support.

This is an exciting time to join QE. We just joined the successful Ted Wragg Trust in 2021, and we are positive about the direction the school will take over the next few years.
