On Monday 26th June, 27 of Queen Elizabeth’s Year 9 and 10 English Literature students went to watch an evening performance of the National Theatre's internationally acclaimed production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

The play is a stunningly innovative adaptation of Mark Haddon's best-selling novel of the same name. Students were treated to a truly memorable performance with Scott Reid (Line of Duty 2012, Still Game 2002, Misgivings 2016) playing the main character Christopher Boone.

"When studying a drama text in an English classroom, it's vitally important to go and see the text in performance", said Caroline Wilson, English teacher. "This play lacks scene changes and is essentially a presentation of Christopher's mind so seeing it in production, brought alive by these expert actors, is invaluable and really helps the students understand the text at a deeper level."

At the end of the performance, QE students, started a standing ovation that spread around the theatre and was greatly appreciated by the actors. What a great way to end a great play! Well done everyone!
