Summer Ball 2017

On Friday 30th June almost 200 of Queen Elizabeth’s Year 11 students celebrated the end of this landmark stage in their time at school, having completed the last of their GCSE exams. Donning their glad rags, they paraded in their finery in the idyllic setting of Exeter’s Rougemont Castle for a well-earned party.

The hog roast (with veggie option!) was ‘awesome’, and the ice creams and cupcakes also went down a storm. Students enjoyed spectacular fireworks towards the end of the evening, and the dance floor was certainly a hit. Other popular entertainment included a magician and a Black Cab photo-booth.

Will Bonsor spotted us!

Mrs Jarvis, who organised the event said “We mustn’t forget to mention the kindness of the staff at Tesco, who drove their own cars in order to get the fizzy drinks to the castle on time. Our volunteer balloon blowers also deserve a mention. In particular Rob ‘helium’ Bonsor actually suffered several blisters due to his heroic balloon fastening feats. Without the help of Rob and Ruth Bonsor, Petra and Mrs Verok, Megan Phillips, Rosie Box, Erin Miller and Evie Willman, we simply could not have made the event as special as it was.

A huge thank you to all who attended. You were great ambassadors for QE and did the school proud. All the very best to a fine group of young people.”
