This term our Year 9 students studying Spanish have been exchanging emails with students from the ‘Institut Marina La Llagosta’, a school on the outskirts of Barcelona.
On Wednesday 13th December, Mrs Albrighton arranged for the students to attend an after school session to have their first live SKYPE chat with their ‘pen pals’.
The session enabled the students from both schools to converse in Spanish and English as they asked each other questions.
It was a great opportunity for QE students to develop their Spanish language skills, to learn about the culture of Spain, to form friendships abroad and improve their confidence in spoken Spanish.
The Modern Foreign Language department are hoping to do more SKYPE sessions in the New Year and get even more students involved.
