Almost 400 Year 3 & 4’s from 13 schools attend CLC Sports Partnership Orienteering Festival
Local Primary Schools came out in force last week to attend QE’s latest CLC Sports Partnership offering; Orienteering!
With close to 400 Year 3 & 4 participating students from Landscore, Haywards, Thorverton, Newton St Cyres, Brampford Speke, Cheriton Fitzpaine, Cheriton Bishop, Tedburn, Yeoford, Bow, Copplestone, Winkleigh and Sandford, QE’s Year 9 Sports Leaders were busy directing, orientating and encouraging.
The primary students took part in a scavenger hunt, a bearings and distance estimating activity and then an orienteering race against other groups.
CLC Sports Partnership Leader, PE Teacher, Ross Gillon, said; “This is our biggest event yet in terms of the number of students attending. The weather held, our Year 9 Sports Leaders were great role-models and our Year 3 & 4 guests have picked up some valuable experiences. They might even have learnt something!”
Still to come on the busy CLC Sports Partnership calendar for this year, Netball, Athletics, & to finish Rounders/Cricket.
