Four high-attaining Queen Elizabeth’s School Year 9 students spent a stimulating day at the University of Exeter on Monday 15th January.
This was a day organised by the Further Maths Association with Plymouth University. The sessions were held in a state of the art ‘exploration lab’ and were led by Dr. Ted Graham, from the Plymouth University maths department. Activities included making estimations with very little information, a fiendishly complex algebra problem on dividing up a pizza and a mathematical card trick.
All our students had a great time, including the accompanying teacher!
