On Thursday 15th March we planned a Mad Hatter’s tea party and we certainly got a Mad Hatter’s Tea party.
Tables groaned with party food…sausage rolls, sandwiches, cakes, ice cream and jelly…all generously donated by students and staff. A huge thank you to parents for their generosity. Not a crumb was left after lunchtime.
We asked for Mad Hats and we got Mad Hats. Students showed considerable flair and creativity in their creations…from Cheshire Cats to Tea Parties on your head. Prize winners to follow.
The Crediton Community Book Shop brought a choice selection of books for students to browse and buy. Thank you.
The day started with an assembly celebrating the Nonsense poems of Lewis Carroll…performed by some of our Sixth Form Stars of Titanic.
It just remains for me to thank all the people who made the day such a success…Mrs Karkeek, Mr Bain, Mr Crooks, Mrs Jarvis and Miss Wood… all the Staff at Barnfield… our fabulous Sixth Formers and of course all our Students, whose support would not make any of these events possible.
