Gymnastics Bonanza!
QE Year 9 Sports Leaders Put Years 3 & 4 Through Their Paces
The latest chapter of QE’s Crediton Sports Partnership saw over 400 year 3 & 4 primary school students partake in an all-day gymnastics festival held at Western Road’s Sports Hall.
Held over two days on the 22nd and 23rd of November, the youngsters brought bags of enthusiasm with them and enjoyed over 10 different gymnastic stations led by 60 of QE’s dedicated Year 9 Sports Leaders, including rolling, balancing, travelling, linking, jumping, vaulting and flight.
Y9 Sports Leaders May Brittain and Zoe Housley commented after the event, "The experience was really enjoyable, helping the younger children to push themselves was very rewarding and going away knowing we had taught them something was a really great feeling. The whole festival ran smoothly and all of the children left with a smile on their faces. I really enjoyed the responsibility. I felt it made me more mature and it brought out the best in our year group. The children put a smile on my face and I hope they enjoyed it."
Stay tuned for the next event in the sports partnership, taking place on the 1st and 8th of February next year. This one is for our youngest students, the Year 1 & 2 multi-skills fiesta!
