The inspirational Frank Letch, Mayor of Crediton, who was born without arms, showed QE’s Year 8 Students how he doesn't let his disability hold him back.
Frank visited the school on behalf of Reach, a Charity for children with upper limb deficiency. He spoke to students about his life as part of the Year 8’s weekly Personal Development (PDP). This PDP session’s theme was resilience and Frank was the perfect person to speak about this as he has overcome many obstacles throughout his life.
Due to his disability, Frank has to do everything with his mouth, feet and shoulders. The students were fascinated and asked many questions as he demonstrated how he carries out day to day tasks. His talk was inspiring and the students were fascinated by Frank’s stories of how he adapts to everyday life. He spoke about his accomplishments, such as being a teacher, a judge and the Mayor of Crediton - he showed the students that they can have a successful life no matter what their circumstance.
Frank’s visit was a great way to start the week. He was an inspiration to both students and staff at QE!
