This summer term, Queen Elizabeth’s PE and Outdoor Education team worked very closely with their local primary schools in order to deliver a variety of Outdoor Adventure days for Year 5 & 6 students.
Bow, Tedburn St Mary, Cheriton Bishop and Brampford Speke Primary School pupils have all enjoyed taking advantage of the fantastic opportunities available at QE. Nicely complemented, for the most part, by the summer weather!
Over 150 primary school children took part in either orienteering, climbing, canoeing or shelter building sessions, during which time they got to visit some beautiful locations like Haldon Forest or the Exeter Ship Canal.
Co-ordinator of QE Outdoor Activities, Brett Woodgate, would like to extend his thanks to all of the primary schools that took part this year, in particular to the children who all conducted themselves absolutely brilliantly throughout.
QE's PE and Outdoor Education department are very much looking forward to leading the new Crediton Learning Community primary sports partnership, whereby they hope to engage hundreds more Key Stage 1 & 2 children in sport during the next couple of years.
