The 2017 QE-GZE German Exchange has now finished and what a wonderful experience we have had!
13 QE students from Year 9 and 12 went to northern Germany and were hosted by German families. We took trips to the islands, visited the neighbouring towns and cities, saw a day in the life of their school, spoke German, had to drink water ‘mit Gas’ and were generally excellently hosted by our German friends. But that was back in April. Last week they came to us. The weather was incredible and there were trips to the beach, the moor, bikes rides, Exeter and the Eden Project, as well as days in school to enjoy. The German students thoroughly enjoyed their stay and hopefully some life-long friendships have been made. Well done QE students: you rose to the challenge with humour and resilience!
An especially big and heartfelt ‘thank you’ must go to the parents and to my excellent colleague Lara who put all that energy into hosting and making something this special and memorable work so well: THANK YOU!
