Eight primary schools contested the Crediton Learning Community tag rugby competition at Queen Elizabeth's School last Wednesday.
Over 150 students from Haywards, Landscore, Copplestone, Bow, Cheriton Bishop, Yeoford, Tedburn and Sandford attended at QE's Barnfield campus to battle for the trophies. Most schools have been playing tag in PE lessons and some had expert coaching after school in the run up to the tournament.
After 3 hours of muddy mayhem, Bow beat Tedburn in the Shield final, and Sandford (pictured) beat Haywards to win the cup competition. Year 9 students from QE ran and umpired the competition for Year 5 and 6 students as part of their sports leadership qualification, all were a credit to their school.
The primary events at QE now pause for Christmas, with the next event in the new Year for Year 1 and 2 in the sports hall at Western Road.
