Her Majesty The Queen, 21 April 1926 to 8 September 2022

On behalf of all the QE community, may I offer our condolences to the King, The Queen Consort and the wider Royal Family. There will now be a period of national mourning but only they will feel the loss of a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

The name of our school comes from the second Charter issued by Queen Elizabeth I in 1570.  With such a long and proud history as a school serving the people of Crediton, this sad and poignant time in our history will be felt by the entire school community.  During the next week the school will come together to pay our respects.

The Queen was an example to us all, not only her dedication and dignified public service but her sheer hard work. She was someone from whom we could all take inspiration.

This is a time for reflection, one of our Queen Elizabeth’s School core values.  Together our school community will reflect on her historical role as monarch as well as the unmatched service the Queen gave to public life both at home and across the world throughout her reign.
