“We have seen great success across the full range of subjects with a 100% pass rate at A Level plus a fantastic 63% of students getting A* to B grades and a very impressive 36% A* to A grade, making it one of the very best set of results we have ever seen at QE. The results of the students at QE have been very impressive for several years but this year looks like a record breaker! It is a real pleasure to see the students opening their results and getting the reward for all the hard work they have put in, lots of A and A stars and smiles here this morning! I am particularly pleased with the success we have seen in the full range of subjects. We have worked hard to ensure our Sixth Form offer remains comprehensive here at QE. As a result, so many students are able to succeed in the subjects of their choice, and we wish them all the very best as they head off to universities, employment and apprenticeships across the country”
“Staff at QE have great expertise in supporting all students to achieve, and in particular supporting the students in the sometimes complex process of university application. This in reflected in the high numbers of students getting their first choice place at university”
“Special mention must go to our highest achieving student this year - and record breaker – Sam Hatchell who gained 4 A*s at A level, and an A in his Extended Project Qualification. It is simply a huge amount of work to study that many subjects, let alone achieve at such a high level and on top of all that Sam has been actively involved in, and has supported staff in a huge range of extra curricular activities throughout his time here at QE. Rosie Box and Erika Cann are also two students with outstanding results who have demonstrated particularly high levels of dedication and commitment in everything they do here at QE. They now have the results to prove it, both with 3 A*s an A in EPQ and an A in Core maths – an outstanding achievement”
Head of Sixth Form Lucy Jones said
“I am delighted with the results; an early analysis shows a significant increase in the highest grades at A* - B and achievement across the board is very good, with most students hitting their target grades and getting the university of their choice. I know I speak for all the teachers and tutors in the 6th Form team when I say what a pleasure it has been working with the students. They have been a particularly active, hard-working and pleasant cohort to work with over the last two years and I wish them all the very best for the future”
